Amman Day Trips
Although there are many things to do on a budget, there are also things to do in Amman that may require a guide for help. Amman specializes in Jordan Private Tours by locals, as this is a thriving business. You can hire a private tour guide that will escort you to your destination, explain to you how to get around and then wait for you to leave with him. He does not charge by the hour, but by the trip. A cheaper way for those on a budget to get around is to hire a local driver with a car to take you to your destination, such as the Citadel and wait for you. Everything in Jordan is negotiable, including hotel rooms, except during the peak seasons and holidays.
The best and cheapest times to travel to Jordan is between July and August. This is the hottest season here and many will stay away. For those on a budget, you can get better hotel prices, tour prices and even food by traveling in the hotter months.

Other Things to Do in Amman for the Budget Minded
Amman has a plentiful supply of things to do and if your came on a Jordan Tour Bus, then you may have to follow their schedules, but if you come on your own and you are looking for the fun in the sun, then try these suggestions:
1. Shopping downtown will bring you many treasures from buying some of the local handcrafted items to visiting the traditional souvenir shops. Garden Street is a fun packed street to walk down also. Make sure to stop in at Al-Jabri's and have a dessert. The prices there are extremely reasonable.
2. Horseback riding stables are all over Amman. You can take some lessons and ride in the hills of Amman for a restful day.
3. If you come to Amman, make sure you go to the gold district also as all our gold is 24 carat not 18 karat gold, as in America.
4. Walk around Rainbow Street, a street full of quaint shops and places to drink coffee and meet the locals or go to one of the many malls throughout Amman. Amman has many Americanized malls, such as Carrefour or Mecca Mall.
4. Eat at one of the many wonderful restaurants in Amman:
